Is there a way to lock the spot view from rotating with the airplanes trajectory and to have a fixed view from a certain angle relative to the aircraft?  Like in FS2004 you can uncheck the "gradual transition" box.  Thanks in Advance, Max ???

Hi

This is Nibbos tweek for the spot plane problem. It stops the view from moving when you view the aircraft and by pressing the num number keys it stops at that view untill you press another number key. You can still pan round using the hat switch on your joystick if you have one.

Just open up the file defair.flt which can be found in the CFS2 SITUATIO folder then scroll down and delete the Window 1 section and replace it with this:

[Window.1]
Order=0
Active=True
Undocked=False
Maximized=False
ManualMaxed=False
;ScreenUniCoords=0,0,8192,6144
UndocCoords=0,0,0,0
ViewType=Normal
ViewMode=Virtual Cockpit
ViewDir=Foreward
CockpitZoom=000.50
VirtualZoom=000.50
TowerZoom=008.00
TrackZoom=000.50
SpotZoom=001.00
MapZoom=011.00
SpotDirection=000.50
SpotDistance=+000500
SpotTransitionType=Fixed
SpotFastTransition=True
SpotAltitude=+000010
PanHeading=360.00
PanPitch=360.00
PanBank=360.00
AutoFullScreen=True

Thats it.

Hope this helps

Also, the lines:

SpotDirection=000.50
SpotDistance=+000500
SpotAltitude=+000010

can be altered to change your initial position relative to the plane when you swith to spot view.

In this case the initial position bears 1/2 degree relative (almost bow on), at  a range of 500 feet and an altitude of 10 feet. These values can be altered to whatever you wish.

I have mine set to:

SpotDirection=090.00
SpotDistance=+000123
SpotAltitude=+000010

So, my inital viewing position bears 90 degrees relative, range 123 feet at an altitude of 10 feet.

And don't forget, if you wish, to make the same changes to your defgnd.flt which is also located in the SITUATIO folder.

defair.flt controls the view when the plane is in the air. defgnd.flt does the job when the plane is on the ground.

Cheers,
Chris
