Have had similar happenings but very infrequently, and always traced  the problem to new add-ons. Corrupt files in add-on aircraft, gauges or scenery. Removing the offending add-on(s) has cured the problems.

Im guessing these are not the only things that can cause the error(s).  Knowing what the message says (it should identify the program or module in which the error occurred) might allow others to help you identify your specific problem

Cheers,
Dave

I know corrupt gauges can cause that problem, because I have had that happen to me, and I traced it back to one bad gauge Shocked

If it seems to happen in the same geographical location it's likely connected with a scenery add on or any third party meshes. If it's random then it might be a guage. If it always happens with a particular aircraft and no others then I'd suspect the airplane.

I doubt you'll get any useful information out of the report. That's a standard thing in many Windows versions. It sends a report to Microsoft that is supposed to help them figure out a solution or determine if it was a Windows fault or a faulty application. Usually it's so cryptic that unless you are a software engineer with intimate knowledge of Windows code you can't make heads or tails out of it.

Do you use real-world weather? Sometimes the computer does that for some reason when real-world weather is being used. Has happened to me a couple of times in the Seattle Area.  Roll Eyes

It's called crashing-to-desktop and can be caused by the 'spring bug' in FS9. Try flying in a season other than spring.bill

Actually, I have had a similar problem when I fly the Vinka (an add-on aircraft).  Whenever I try to manually tune the radio and hit the button to make it the frequency, the game crashes to desktop.  The add-on is for FS2002 and that may be the reason (I got the Vinka from PCPilot).
