Many years ago (longer than I care to remember) as an member of the ATC I had the chance to work a weekend at Mildenhall, one of the great advantages was being able to go around the base at 5am to take pictures of planes at dawn (no crowds and kids ramming candyfloss sticks up your nose), a couple of mine...
A big bad V-bomber
And the totally fabulous ML417 piloted by the late Mark Hanna
(and yes I was standing on the edge of the taxi-way and just happened to have my elderly 20mm lens camera handy
)
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
