A rare visitor to Shobdon, (EGBS), a very nice Chipmunk.
A view across the airfield...
...(don't ask about the clouds...
...)...!
...and a further few fly-ins later in the day on Fozzers private landing strip...
..!
Cheers all...
!
Paul.

Great Shots Paul
I notice the landing light or is that a taxi light on the landing gear port side?
I believe our RCAF Chipmunks had the retracting landing light on the underside of the wing. Will have to go to the RCAF Museum and check that out. Also is that a wooden spar on that aircraft as some had a wooden spar with a combination of fabric and metal wing covering.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

LOL...LOL...!
Hi Craig...
..don't ask...it's probably due to my Konica Digital Revio KD-100, £89, digital camera...
...!
...or it's just the way I take 'em...
...!
(The clouds actually match my 1970's purple shirt)...
...!

Nice one Foz.
I saw that Chipmunk at the Abingdon fly-in but didn't get a shot.

I'm not sure about the Canadian-built versions Doug. I could be wrong but always understood the Chipmunk was of all-metal construction. I've heard it mentioned that some versions had fabric-covered wings but I've never seen one myself. If they did I assume the spars & ribs would still be metal. I think they all had fabric-covered control surfaces which is quite normal on this type of aircraft.

It probably serves both purposes.

There you go again....
Shooting and bombing things with that Spitfire of yours...

The RSPB* love me to bits for feeding and watering our garden birds.
I, personally, have increased the bird population in my area, by zillions of percent....
...!
(Mainly due to my activities with Jordan when under the influence of Bulmers Cider...)...
..!
Cheers alll...!

Think bus-load of Swedish nymphomaniacs, each with their own family sized tub of banana joghurt.
