Craft does not appear in the FS9 preview window, but shows up fine in game(it's just this one craft)??If I add another object to this one, then it shows(as long as it extends to the outside,if it is on the inside then nothing shows, but if the other object(say a box)extends past the orig object (anywhere)then it all shows???
any suggs(don't remember having this prob before)!!
Best Regards,
Ronnie

Ronnie,

Since the craft shows in the sim, then my guess is that you have a small stray object, poly, or vertice a distance from the craft.

FS used either the wing span * 1.5? or the invisible crash box to determine the preview distance.

Check your model to ensure when zooming all extents, it fits up close to you in the window rather than a distance away.

The other possibility would be a scaling issue where the aircraft is so large, you are seeing only the ground beneath it in the preview window.

Milton, after hours of testing, there's no stray anything,I rescaled with the Jenny(matched Pilot size),now it seems like it is alittle too close to the preview window??(when it is rotating in the view, the corners dissapear and it dose not show all the other objects(radar,gear,ect...).But when I rescale(SMALLER) just a hair it dissapears from the view window completely. It is at coord.0,0,0(center of object).I Can't figure out what I am missing.I could use any and all suggestions! Is there a way to set the preview scale?I had a few Emails about my Jupiter2 being a little big in the preview window(but not like this).
Best Regards,
Ronnie

A screenshot of thepreview window might help here, if you can.

I am not sure where FS gets its dimensions from but it seems from the wing span, either from the model or from the aircraft.cfg.

If you have an aircraft.cfg now, ensure that the airplane geometry section has accurate measurements particularly for the wing span.

Also, ensure that you model is positioned on the grid in gmax facing in the Y direction, and that system units of measurement is in meters.

Milton,Well I'm stumped for now.I checked and double checked. It's facing the "Y" position, units are in Meters.I know it will be something very simple that I overlooked. It allways is.Thankyou for all the help.Maybe you'll think of something else.Well back to work!

Milton,It is the wingspan in the model you might say.It has to have wings,or something that is wider than it is tall.FSDSv2 has an aircraft radius ref part.In Gmx I used a transparent box.I read your replys again and it sunk in.Thanks!
