Can you see a pattern forming here.  These Georender sceneries keep getting better and better.  Grin

Maintenence is complete and ready to take her on a flight to the North Cascades.  Daryl and his other brother Daryl work in this hanger.... Grin

Just like in real life, there is the marina at East Sound.
This is the area where you can camp on the airport if you want to. Grin

East Sound in the background, and Friday Harbor in the far background.

Flying past Mt. Constitution.  I climbed this mountain about 6 years ago.  It is a real hike. Grin

I want nothing more than my new RAM,so I can finally run my 2700+ (FSB333, but currently FSB 266) on its full speed. A tad of tweaking and my FS should look almost as good as yours. But honestly said,I doubt that...

I won't lie to you.  When I first flew into Orcas Island and I was about 10 miles out, I knew we had a winner.  Deffinately the best Georender to date.  Having flown into Orcas Island many times before, it is fantastic.  The NOTAM state that you should land runway 16 always and take off 34 for noise abatement....  They frown on you buzzing the harbor.

That reminds me... I witnessed my first close call.  My wife and I were camping at the north end when I notice two airplanes going to land at Orcas Island.  One was trying to land 16, the other 34.  It looked like the Blue Angels opposing pass manuver, only a lot slower. Grin  The plane landed 16 as the other pilot pulled away and circled to land 34.  I told my wife we should go down to the parking area to see if a fight breaks out.  If I was the pilot landing 34 I would have gone to a different airport... like Bellingham... Great shot codered,

I learned to fly (real-life) at Boundary Bay, which looks directly across at Mt. Constitution (see picture to the left, Mt. Constitution would be right at the base of the red arrow!!). I always used that as a reference when taking off. I spent alot of time doing stall and spin practice right over Cherry Point which is also in the neighborhood. Try a flight to Concrete, it is beautiful and not far from Darrington.

Thanks
Eric

Wonderful! I have also been to Orcas Island. Spent a week there in 6th grade with my classmates for an outdoor school.  In fact the lake in pic 4 is Lake Cascade and we spent one night over there. One of the best times of my life  Smiley
