I'll wait until they're out in the Omega-version,then,I'll take a look at them.
Currently running Catalyst 3.8 (Omega),because the newer drivers suck...

I don't blame you for waiting.  I think I heard the Omega drivers were out.... I could be wrong....  I didn't upgrade my drivers since 3.9.  Everything between 3.9 and 4.5 have been very bad for FS9.  Great for other games.... Grin

Hi Codered,

Nice shots. I especially like the shot lining up for the runway. In my own humble opinion, there are not enough shots from the cockpit on lineup. They're my favorites.
I have a quick question. This should probably be in the hardware forum but....I just got a 9800 Pro. Do you see any bad frame rates with your sliders up as high as they must be with the 9500. I've been told the 9800 Pro should give me no problems, but I'm concerned with clouds, detailed planes, and extra terrain meshing clogging up my graphics.

Awwww, crap!

Other games run great.  Lock On, CFS3, and Raven Shield are really the only other games I play.  Works great.... Grin

I run my traffic at 75%.  Any more than that and I would never get to take off.  Not because of frame rates, but because I would have to wait in line.  I use a lot of files from Project AI and created a couple of AI tracks myself.  You don't see my traffic a lot, because I do not turn on the labels...  just no realistic.... Grin

I like the cockpit shots also.... Grin

I would think there should be no problem with a 9800 pro.  I really like my 9500 pro.  It is the best video card I have ever owned.  I used to be stricktly Nvidia, but after having 2 burn up on my in one year, I made the change to ATI.  I have had the card I think a year and a half, and still going strong. Grin  Logic would lead me to believe that a 9800 pro is better than a 9500 pro, but when talking computers there is no logic... Grin

When trying to gain more perfomance from FS9, do not limit yourself to just the ingame sliders.  Take a look at your FS9.CFG file.  You can make numerous tweeks here that will imporve the game or make it more graphically pleasing.... Grin

Any article on tweaking the FS9.cfg out there?

You've convinced me,codered. I'll just go and give that catalyst a try. Wink

That is the debatable question.  I find that if I lock my frames at 27 I get better results with my fps.  It has been said that the human eye cannot detect any changes above 24 fps.  I think televisions run at 30 fps, so I figure 27 is a happy medium. Grin

The other debate is if I put my frames at unlimited my computer will be wasting memory at trying to give me as many frames as it can.  And ruining the detail, etc.  If you lock your frames the computer knows where to stop and then it can focus on processing other information.

It is all debatable.  Long story short... that is just how I have it set up... Grin
