EMB170+Custom panel,or:How to add gauges to the VC (Read 182 times)

Hell, what a long title. It almost didn't fit into the "subject" box. Grin

Anyways,I've got a question about adding gauges to a VC. I want to use the Dreamwings Embraer 170, but it doesn't have a custom panel and uses the one of the default 737. I've now downloaded a brand new panel for the Embraer, but its panel.cfg doesn't include any entries for the VC. So I'm asking you whether there's any way to add gauges properly to a VC without using the "trial & error" method. Wink
Maybe a program or a tutorial somewhere on the net?

Any help appreciated.

Exploder.

P.S: I'll eat my hat,if the first (useful) reply doesn't come from Hagar. Grin

You can put that hat away although this might not be too useful. Tongue

The first thing I need to know is if this Embraer 170 has a DVC with functional gauges. If so, the gauge entries will be in the Panel.cfg, even if it's aliased. You can copy/paste these entries straight into the Panel.cfg of the new panel. If the aircraft doesn't have a DVC there's nothing you can do about it.

It has a DVC,but the panel.cfg just points to the 737s panel.cfg.

Hi Bjorn. Unless there's a way of doing it that I don't know about I can't see how this is possible. Can you tell me the file name. I've tried all 3 versions of this aircraft posted at Avsim. One has a virtual cabin but none has a DVC or any sort of virtual cockpit.

You don't sound too convinced Bjorn. The DVC is the internal view from the pilot's seat including the panel with functional gauges & possibly other animated parts as on the default aircraft. There's no way you can modify/add gauges if a virtual cockpit is not included in the visual model. I agree that it seems strange that they would go to the trouble of creating a highly detailed virtual cabin without the cockpit on this particular aircraft. ???
