See Toms Hardware Guide for the review:

ATi's X800 Pulls Off Another Coup in the Graphics Performance War

THG says x800 is (marginally) better than NVIDIA 6800.
Interesting result as the basic design is the 9700 Pro enhanced.  The new ATI card doesn't require additional power like the 6800 and runs cooler.  A slick piece of engineering which will generate profit and time to design the next product.

Thank you Mr. Spokesperson.  Wink  But I'm going to get this X800 XT Platinum Edition, sound cool, scheduled for either June 04th or May 21st. (I'm not gonna read the article, I've done too much research on this card already.) The nVidia takes up two ports, AND a minimum of 480 watt power supply. ATI is a 300-350 watt and takes up only slot, also comes with a copper heatsink. (All memory 8)) So go ATI. I've never had an ATI card, going to be a new experience, heard that ATI's card's flicker when starting up FS?

Mine does not, it may be a certain driver problem, i have used Cat 4.3 and 4.5 with FS9 and had absolutely no problems.

ATI had a rep of not updating drivers prior to the 9700.  Been monthly for some time.  I had significant far scene rendering problems with CFS3 that were resolved with 4.4.  It looked like an MS problem but was an ATI driver problem.
