I'm using TTools to add some AIs to my airport created with AFCAD2 and most work fine untill I had this happening:

...

This only happens with the B52. Some times it even falls back onto it gear.

Anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?

It's ever since they began using those women pilots. There must be dress shop that we can't see over to the left of the aircraft. She's just jammed the brakes on the way they do when they see a nice little black number in the window.

from what I can make out, the plane itself can not be used with AI. this is something to do with the handling files which could be fixed with a bit of tinkering about if you know what youre doing. unfortunately i cannot help you there

Steve, I take it this is Bonzonie's FS2002 B52 right?

If so I think you're lucky even to see it as an AI. It gives big non-compatability warnings with FS9.

I've just played around with it for a short while (don't tell the Missus) and I couldn't even get it to appear at my starting airport (VHHX to Kuala Lumpar). One time I saw a big cloud of smoke hanging in the air so I think it must have done a few acrobatics then dived under the ground before I could get a sight of it.

It's not often I pass up a challenge with AI (ask Erik!) but I'm gonna pass on this one Wink

Yepper Roger it is Bonzonie's.  Not only does it stand on its nose, but before it falls back onto its gear it spins around C/W about 45* then falls and disappears in a cloud of smoke.

Wounder if Bommergirl is training someone  Grin

The other AC that I'm trying to use as A/I is the AH64 Helo, but it wont even show up.

I've got 6 C5's and and 5 F-14 doing circuts right now, and the skies do get crowded. The F-14's think they are landing on a carrier as they touch down and stop in less than  a houndred feet then taxi to the ramp.

Makes landing a cessna chalanging to say the least with all that traffic.  Wink

Steve,

Helos can be made to work but they are very special and I don't think you'll do it. Holger Sandman (I think it is) who is often here on the forum has done lots of work on it with a lot of success with several models.

As for the B52 - wait for it - it can be done. I've had it sitting beautifully on the ground at Kuala Lumpar, starting, taxying out, taking off a treat and flying to Kai Tak. I set it at FL285 and I watched it arrive for the last 10 mins from 17000ft. It was a real treat to see it land at Kai Tak as dusk was gathering.

Fair bit of tidying up to do with the FDE and stuff so I won't post any pics yet. If you don't do it before, I'll let you know and put some pics up.

Thanks for the tips on the Helo's, I'll keep tinkering with it and maybe Holger will see this posting.

As for the B52, It finnaly appeared on the ramp in the correct spot even, how ever after starting it just set there for five min and then poff was gone. Love the way AI do that.

Glad you got it to work. Will watch for your pic's

Steve,

Just make this your new contact points section in the aircraft.cfg file

[contact_points]

point.0=1.000000,16.000000,0.000000,-12.05, 2000.0, 1, 6.0, 70.0, 0.5, 3.5, 0.900,  9.0,  8.0, 0, 220, 250
point.1=1.000000,-39.750000,0.000000,-12.05, 2000.0, 2, 6.0, 0.0, 0.5, 3.5, 0.900,  9.0,  8.0, 0, 220, 250
point.2=1.000000,-39.750000,-66.666667,-12.05, 2000.0, 0, 2.0, 0.0, 2.0, 2.5, 0.900, 11.0,  9.0, 2, 220, 250
point.3=1.000000,-39.750000,66.666667,-12.05, 2000.0, 0, 2.0, 0.0, 2.0, 2.5, 0.900, 11.0,  9.0, 3, 220, 250

static_pitch=0.000000
static_cg_height=12.002963
gear_system_type=1

That'll solve the main problem. I'm just checking to see how it flies as AI with the existing cfg and air files as initially I changed them. I'll let you know. Then I'll finish adding some nav lights and stuff.

No, I can tell you straight away that without changing the cfg and air files just changing the contact points doesn't work even though the numbers above are fine.

   Made the changes to the contact points and the gear type to 1. The two static entrys were already set.

Once she was off the ground she flew nice as far as I could tell, however while taxing the front wheels started hopeing up and down, looked like a bucking bronk, it did it also on take off roll.

The hoping seemed to start at about 14 kias.

I have know knowledge of how to work on the air.file or how to even get into it. Best I leave it to the Expert ie.. YOU.   Grin Grin

Thanks, you sure helping me put togeather my Air Force base.

Smiley

Here you go. Approach and landing at Kuala Lumpar after a 4 1/2hr flight from Kai Tak

...

...

...

...

Everything's fine and she's got a full set of lights (but not landing as they have to be built in)

I'll send you the cfg and air files
