Hi everybody,

I have a little problem with my Sidewinder FF joystick.

I want to increase the centering forces a bit. These forces are said to be adjustable with the use of "Sidewinder FF 2 Properties" window under Forces tab. I looked at this and realized that the centering forces are already at the max level. Then I tried to decrease the centering forces. Saved the modified profile. But noting changed. The forces remain always the same. How can I change the force magnitudes?

Here is what happens. When I change the setting for the centering force to a lower level. At first the centering force on the joystick decreases, but then when I save the profile it returns to its original setting (that's the max setting). Same thing for the feedback forces. I change the level of feedback forces, then press a button on the joystick to test it, at first it assumes the new setting, but when I release the button and press it for the second time it returns to the original setting.

I've checked the manual of the joystick but there isn't anything of use. I've checked the microsoft knowledge base for this, still nothing.
I have the software of the joystick loaded. That's version 4.0. I have XP Pro + SP1.

If it is not possible to fix this, is it possible to alter the cfg file (or something else) of the default 737-400 to increase the centering forces?

Is there any other one experiencing this kind of problem with sidewinder FF 2?

Thanks for the replies.
