On some of my add-on planes the gauges dont show. This happens most often when the panel needs DC-3 gauges. Its in FS9.

Probably find the authors forgot to add the gauges by accident.

It happened on too many planes. And anyway in cfg. edit it says that there are gauges there but they dont work.

Look in the default Douglas_DC3\Panel folder. In mine there's a file named Douglas_DC3.cab. I suspect this is your missing DC-3 gauge. It will work fine on the default aircraft but no other panels using it. Paste it into the FS9\Gauges folder & tell me if that fixed it.
