Hey every1

just wonderin how i get the gates at airports. cos i only get buildings and parking spaces, yet i see the learning  center and they have gates that you park into.

its annoying cos i like my flight to end with my passengers getting out through airport gates, lol

cheers
forfun

Hey forfun, unfortunatley only a few airports in FS have gates added to the terminal buildings. You can find out which ones in the learning center, but you can add on some gates or airports that come with gates off the internet.  Wink

Check out the sceneries here and at Avsim.  There are some addons that will give you gates to your default airports.  Plus there are other addons that will give you an entirely life like looking airport.  KBOS for example.  Still one of the best freewares out there. Grin

Look into AFCAD also.... Grin

I can't guarantee it but you might find that gates appear at some locations if you turn the scenery density setting up to full.

Certainly some features disappear at low settings to help people with low-end PCs

Your right about that. Here are the default airports that come with gates for FS2004:

  • Amsterdam (EHAM)
  • Anchorage (PANC)
  • Atlanta (KATL)
  • Chicago (KORD)
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth (KDFW)
  • Denver (KDEN)]
  • Hong Kong/Chek Kap Lok (VHHH)
  • Las Vegas (KLAS)
  • London (EGLL)
  • Los Angeles (KLAX)
  • Miami (KMIA)
  • New York (KJFK)
  • Paris (LFPG)
  • Phoenix (KPHX)
  • San Francisco (KSFO)
  • Seattle (KSEA)
  • Sydney (YSSY)
  • Tokyo (RJAA)
  • St. Maarten (TNCM)

Some good airports you can download here on SimV include Bangkok, Honolulu, and Boston  Grin

There's nice scenery for Denver International, Reagan National (Washington DC) and Kansai International airport (island airport in japan) over at AVSIM.  They all are quite nice and include gates and much more.
