Theres a new NEK.
I went to the download page and its not that bad of a download, only 23MB(actually 27.88) , then I keep scrolling and add and extra 9 mb not that bad.

Then I scroll down a little more and then

OH MY GOD 293 MB!!!

Just in case anyones laughing yet, I have dial up. It would take aproximately 40 maybe 50              thousand years to complete.

I know its not required so don't hurt me...yet.

But I have a question, I have all the previous NEKs, and I was wondering if I can somehow use the old animation files with the new one?

If not, oh well it just a little more eye candy

Thanks

Some of the animation files are the same as the old ones but other aren't so it wouldn't really work that well.  I wish the large file sizes could be avoided but the .X files don't seem to compress very well.

I'm working on two avenues to help dialup users.  First, there's a good possibility that the whole NEK ~ Redux Edition, merged into a single installer, will be available on the cover CD of Computer Pilot magazine the following month.  They told me they'd like to include it but didn't have enough room on this month's (upcoming) CD but should have enough room next month.

Second, I'm looking into what it'll cost to mail out CDs to people who would prefer to, or have to, have it on CD.  So far it looks like the amount I'd have to collect to cover the cost of the CD, mailing jacket and postage is pretty small ~ about $5 Canadian should cover most locations around the world.  Once I have a firm idea I'll be posting more details.

Cheers,
Gunner

thanks for the response, I put the old .X files in my animation folder before I had a chance to read it, but nothing is exploding so I think it isn't having any trouble, I didn't know there were any flight sim mags in the US (technically UK but one letter off close enough)

Ohh well a little less eye candy isn't that bad I was just wondering
