When I load a 3-view into Gmax, I notice that no matter how good the original is, the loaded image is terrible. The lines are poorly defined and they vary in thickness and density. I thought this was simply Gmax until I saw how good they are in FSDS. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution?
BTW, what size images do you usually use for 3-views?
Here's the original...
Here's in Gmax...
HP p7-1300w
AMD Athlon II X4 650 Quad-core 3.2 Ghz
23" HP Widescreen monitor/19" Dell monitor
Windows 7 Home Premium
16 Gb DDR3 PC10600 Ram
1 Gb GeForce GTX 550Ti video card
1 TB RAID Drives

The other thing is - "thou shalt not load images into the viewports"
Basically, set up your images as a material on a box/plane and you won't have them jumping up and about.

The general idea is to make your (for example) side view a convenient size (assume you use 100 pixels per meter, so a 5 meter long plane will have a 500pixel wide image (let's say it's 5m wide by 2m tall, so you end up with a scaled 500 x 200 pixel image.
In gmax, you create a 5m x 2m plane, and apply your 500p x 200p image as it's material.
Repeat for any other views you may have, position the planes correctly, and then freeze them in place (remember to uncheck 'view frozen in grey' in the properties)
There are better tutorials on this at FFDS -
