Our friend Stephen Rothlisberger has compiled a terrain mesh at 70M for a large part of the world.

As a necessary bandwidth control I have used a new method to download - controlled FTP. I would appreciate  download testing before this goes live on the main page.

Please note it may take a little time to connect & it is set to limit speeds to 44KPS. If anyone with broadband gets faster than this I would be interested to hear about it as this is one area that has yet to be fully tested.

No problems connecting to the files at all and a steady speed of 40-42Kbs.

Cheers Pete.

Hi Pete!

No problems connecting, but got steady 65-70kbps, sometimes nearly 75kbps.

???

I use 600k ADSL with BT OpenWorld. I'm very near London Wink

I tested a few files - they all got this speed.

Sorry, didn't mean to upset ya Dan!

I only posted that to let Pete know. It seems that I got a higher speed than I should have done, so I needed to post that to give Pete the information he needs to find out why I got a high speed, when it should have been limited to 44kbps.
