I have an Athlon 2400 with 512 Ram and a 128mb graphics card. When I try to fly I have super buildings and planes but only brown and grey squares and triangles on the ground. I have reloaded several times, any ideas. I have the FS2002 fully loaded on to the hard drive. The FS2000 that I had previously worked fine until a disc cracked. Thanks J.D.

Which graphics card are you using? It may be worth updating the drivers. Or downgrading if you've recently upgraded. Wink

Hi Woodlouse, I have now downloaded the latest driver to my hard drive, how do I install it? It has the same numbers as my existing file but has some letters following the number which are to do with MS approval. Hope you can help. Jacko.

with regards to the driver installation it depends on how it came.

Some drivers all you have to do is double click the download and it'll basically do the rest for you.

Some you have to decompress first (using a utility such as winzip www.winzip.com) and then do the above or the below:

Some you have to right click a file with a notepad icon and then select install.

Finally, and the most complicated way is that depending on your version of windows you have to go to the device manager (basically right-click My computer then go hardware. In Win XP/2000/NT then slect device manager. 98/95Infidellic ought to be there). find the device you wish to upgrade the drivers for and then double click on it (here it would be under display adapters). Having done that go to driver tab then update driver. Hit next (if available) then slect allow it to search for the driver. Tick 'specify a location' (this bit may be relevant to only Win 2k.....its the only version I have at hand) then next. A popup comes up and you hit browse. Find the driver and hit ok. It ought to list the driver in a box (I think) and then you hit next. It installs it then you restart the machine.............you may need to reset resolutions and stuff after restarting.

This is roughly correct, as I say it depends on your version of Windows (assuming you are running windows) and how they have given you the driver.

Hope it helps,

Infidellic

The waving flag of my avatar is just a standard animated gif file.

Uploaded somewhere else I linked to it....that's all, no magic to it.  Grin

Glad your driver installation went well, usually manufacturers distribute the type of file you got (.exe) which usually all the major manufacturers do (NVidia included!) but since I didn't know if they had changed it I gave you the rest. See it wasn't that hard was it?  Roll Eyes

P.S. If you don't know how to change/activate your avatar PM me (click my name then the PM button) and we'll discuss it from there. It saves this thread from being put at the top of the thread list constantly  Wink
