I just bought a Nividia 5700 and I have downloaded the latest forceware drivers and I am getting a flickering problem. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?

describe flicker. Is it only in FS9? Did you try another driver?, Is the card configured correctly in bios? Have you set up the driver settings? Did it do that with the other card you had...... with similar settings? Is the Anisotropic setting up too high? Did you try a second install of the program to see if that fixed it? Have you got antialiasing turned on? Did you experiment with all sliders up, and then down in FS9?

Hi.  Sounds like that Nvidea card was sitting on the shelf next to an ATI card with a pre Cat 3.9 driver.  It caught the "ATI Flicker".  Very contageous  Wink Cheesy Grin..

I will see intermittent graphic flashes on the screen, most often in the spot plane view. So far that is the only game where I notice flickering graphics.
I have tried the following drivers 53.03, starstorm 56.72, forceware 56.82?, and the latest nvidia factory drivers. I have run driver cleaner each time as well as the .cab cleaner.I am not sure are you talking about the card's bios or computer's bios. How would I configure it correctly? I set it up according to how I had it with the 5200 before I put this one in. I had a flicker problem before but it wasn't very often.h? I have AA turned off in FS9 and have it set at 2X in the driver settings.
I haven't tried re-installing FS9 yet though.
I haven't tried all the way up and down but I have tried different settings and I still get the same result.

I only said put all sliders up then down, to check if it is a setting within the game. That might narrow it down to a fault outside the game.

Occasionally I see some minor flicker, but this is when everything is trying to render a complex image, particularly after a view change. I attribute my flicker to inadequate overall ability of my machine to process the image, despite being a pretty fast machine. I will also get some nasty flickering if I try to set anisotropic filtering to 8x, but that is due to my particular card I'm guessing. Try dropping your display resolution down and see if the flicker goes away.

Computer BIOS..... Set for 8x AGP? Graphics Window or Aperature set high enough? any onboard video chip disabled? Is the card configured as the primary graphics adapter?

Reload DX9.0b, If it asks for a reboot, then it had a corrupt file, if not, it was probably fine, this won't hurt anything.

Reload your mainboard AGP (GART) driver, you never know. This might be part of a multiple mainboard driver install, so it's best to get the latest from the mainboard manufacturers website.
