here goes my joystick sob story all over again..... i have always had problems with my logitech joysticks.  but i just couldnt stamd that flimsy little thrust thing that comes with the sidewinders, so logitech stays in. anyway-ive been having problems increasing the center spring strength. i cant do it from inside fs, the properties screen in there has no ok button! so someone suggested that i launch it with profiler from my desktop. this i did. i clicked on profiler, nothing happened. so i tried clicking on wingman test(from the start menu on XP) and it came up, only to tell me-no game device detected! HUH?! when i bring up the test inside fs its definitely there alright. any ideas as to what to do here? i have had a previous version of a wingman, which was a real pain in the ass by the way, and im wondering if maybe the wingman test and wingman profiler im running are only supposed to be for the first wingman i had. so, anyway, any suggestions?

I am sure you have already done this but I'll say it anyways just incase. First I would check out the logitech site for any updates on the software for your stick. The only other advice I could give is to ditch the logitech and pick up a shiny new saitek X45. Got mine from http://royalbusiness.com/ for cheaper than at any of my local stores even after the shipping costs. No problems with the flimsy little thrust thing that comes with this stick!
Anyways I hope you get your problem sorted out, I know how it is to use a stick with problems.

Ditch that Logitech joystick. IMHO Logitech's joysticks are the worst. I have one brand new and it has already become a pain in butt.
I'm getting me another one

I have a force 3d and no such problems.  My centre spring strength is excellent, the force feedback is excellent, also the stick is not flimsy.  I am not sure which model you guys have, but i am using the latest version.

well, i guess i'll never get the profiler open! anyway, thanks for the responses. you're right, there are more joysticks than just logitech and microsoft, and im sitting on a mound of cash. logitech is too much trouble.
