I was flying over northwest Arizona in a Piper Cub when all of a sudden, it just swerved right and up. I lost my constant altitude and heading, but I got it back. This doesn't happen a lot, but enough that it is annoying. Is this supposed to happen? Or is it my joystick or something?

Sounds like wind shear, of a wind shift. If you got real WX loaded or a weather theme this is likely to happen.  Meant to add to the realism.
