hey there guys,
The SAAF (South African Air Force) is going to start selling off its Cheetahs. i heard the base price is R7,000.00 for an empty airframe. If anyone is in the market for a reasonably up to date fighter airframe well, there ya go!

An improved Mirage III/V ... and empty airframe would make a great home cockpit... Smiley

do you have contact information? website?

That seems to be very cheap. Does stripped mean, no engine along with no avionics? internal systems intact? (hydrolics, electrical wiring, fuel tanks...etc.)

I did a quick search on the internet and it shows a 2 place version, are they selling those?

i couldnt tell you anymore than that, cause i dont actually know anymore. um there are at least 40 odd cheetahs in the SAAF that dont fly anymore, cause they've been canibalized for other parts. i think that the cheetahs that can be bought contain nothing at all. no engine or cockpit. i cant find out anymore cause it was my last day on the base today, until i return in june. ah well. the SAAF sold their T-6s as well when they were retired. those fetched a buttload of money.

Can you buy up the other parts to the aircraft? Would be a nice addition to the fleet of Migs. And no I'm not kidding, information on this would be nice, we're going to look at a Yak in South Africa so we may just stop buy where they sell these.
