Hi simmers, well after much heart searching (not to mention through the wallet as well), I'm purchasing 2004. Just upgraded to a 2.4AMD and 5700ultra card with 512RAM. I hope this is enough - for this year anyway. I'm having to balance the books with some real
flying as well (Cessna 152).

My question is: will 2004 run happily on my hard drive with 2002 still installed?  I've got enough spare capacity on the drive. My apologies if this has been asked before - which I'm sure it has.

Cheers

I just  got 2004 and I installed side by side to 2002 and there does not seem to be any issues. ALthough I did notice that if I put the settings in both games the same (ie: graphics, hardware....) 2004 does run a little slower....

As you will find with most games coming out, they are going to take advantage of the newest hardware.  So if you are not keeping up on the technology you will find your computer running a bit slow with FS9.

Crocker, you shouldn't have a problem.  Just like FS2002 you will have to tweek a bit, but that is part of the fun in my opinion.  Enjoy your new toy! Grin

Thanks guys. I'm reassured by your replies. One of these days my system will catch up. But what's new today is old tomorrow, a fact of life none of us can escape from!
