Hi Jpw. I haven't tried this aircraft. Here's what I check with all new aircraft before running the sim.

1. Make sure you installed the correct aircraft container folder, directly containing the Model. Panel, Sound & Texture subfolders. It might be hidden inside another folder in which case it won't work.

2. open Aircraft.cfg in Notepad & check the ui_manufacturer= entry. This is the name it will be listed under on the FS9 selection menu. You might be looking in the wrong place for it.

If you still have problems post again & I'll check it out for you.

As mentionede, make sure the correct folder is placed in the aircraft folder of fs9, if so it appears under Boeing.

This Model looks awesome.  I installed it, and it shows up under boeing, but when i try to "fly now" f9s quits with no error message.  Would anyone be so kind as to tell me how they got theirs working? Thanks. ???

I have been using the v3.7 airplane installer.
No problems found so far.
Try deleting the airplane fa18esh3_138105 from the program files/microsoft games/Flight Simulator 9/ Aircraft
then downloading the program at > http://63.217.28.218/files/1misc/airplane_installer.zip
I am using the v3.7 but it isn't up on the site yet. But v3.6 works just as well !
then move the downloaded zip into the download section of the airplane installer then install it again and try it...

jpw, I installed it the same way you did and had no problems.  Sometimes when these weird errors occur and I can't figure out why, I just delete the plane, redownload it, and try again.  Every so often, I've had some errors during the download-but it's pretty rare.  But, sometimes that fixes the problem.

If you can't figure it out, I'd e-mail the creator's and ask them if anyone else has had this kind of a problem and if so, had they found out what caused it.  Usually, the designers are the best at trouble-shooting since they created it and therefore know it better than anyone else.

I stripped down my version, i made a new folder named superhornet, then copied one model, the panel, sounds and 1 texture.  I then edited the airplane.cfg file and deleted the different sims.  It flies great, i can get 19 fps from cockpit view and 14 in spot.

Was that just to save memory or because it wasn't working.  It seems to me that you are missing out on a lot of great textures and loads for it by doing that.

Cutting them to just one means that you will be missing out on 55 different texture/setups !   Shocked

i did it primarily to save memory, sometimes it takes too long for fs9 to open.  my comp is not as powerful as others.  still, flying this bird is amazing no matter what model/texture.  kudos to the design team

I have noticed that there are different variations of that aircraft that do work, and others that kick me out of the sim, perhaps trying a different version of the same aircraft would get you up and flying???
