Hi everyone

I'm new around here and I need help

I was was having a spot of bother with the Vickers, Viscount the guages weren't showing in the panel so I tried again to copy them into the folder.  Windows warned me there would be trouble but I did it anyway.

I could not then use the the aircraft at all

So I decided to uninstall FS9 and everything in it and start again the un install went fine and I then tried to delete the remaining folders from addons installed.  There is one file I cannot delete:

Bendix_King_Radio

Now I cannot re-install FS9 because of this File tried to ignor it and rename the FS9 Folder but it won't let me do that either

I am completely stuck

Can anyone help please

Alan

Try right-clicking the file to see if it is read only. If it is, de-check that, and delete it.

You might also try restarting your computer and trying again - XP sometimes "locks out" files that have been used in that session.

You can select an alternative location for FS9 - e.g. C:\FS2004 rather than the default location in ...\Program Files\Microsoft Games\..

All files will then be installed fresh. It's also a good idea to uninstall using an uninstall utility. That will clean up any redundant registry files which could prove troublesome. At least use the 'add/remove programs' utility in Control Panel. Never send programs to the recycle bin & expect things to be fine... Wink Not a bad idea either to refresh your system by rebooting following uninstall.

Let us know how you get on.
