Hi,

I've got a problem with the He 219 for CFS 2. I installed all the files but I get the message, that CFS can't start the model because of incorrect formated or damaged files. Is there anything special that I have to pay attention to ?

Stratobat. If it doesn't work for him I don't think Mike would know if it's the one in your shot or not. Roll Eyes Tongue

I have 3 suggestions. It depends on the exact error message. 1 & 2 are covered on my CFS2 FAQ page. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2faq.htm

1. You could have too many aircraft installed to CFS2. See my FAQ page for more details.

2. Some older CFS2 aircraft conflict with WinXP. This can be fixed by patching the MDL file with the MDL Repair Utility here. http://www.simviation.com/fs2000utilities_gen2.htm

3. You might need to install a 3rd party weapons package. This might be included with the aircraft or involve a separate download. Read the install instructions with the aircraft.

If none of these suggestions help, tell me exactly where to download the He 219 & I'll check it out for you.

Hagar,

When you download the Heinkel (he_219a7_r2_cfs2.zip) that picture is included with the zip file. Mike wouldn't have to start up CFS 2 to see what the aircraft looks like.

Hi,

yes, that's the plane (from the Simaviation download site No.74, I believe). The number of planes installed should be no problem (about 15). I'm going to try the Repair Utility, but I don't get contact to the download site (I had the same problem with downloading the He 219, it took me 5 days until I got contact to the file), maybe the server is down or too busy. There is no weapon package necessary for the plane, I got all the files. I'll try the Repair Utility !

Thanks,

Mike

Glad you fixed it Mike.

Strat. You obviously know something about this aircraft that I don't. I wouldn't mind betting the fix was my suggestion #2. Wink

The fix was created last year. It was never uploaded as an update though.
