I am having a problem all of a sudden with CFS2

If I press the trigger once and release it, the game continues to fire as if I am holding down the trigger.

I already tried resseting assignments to default and I still have the same problem

This only Happens in CFS2,(CFS3, and FS9 is ok) and started happening all of a sudden for no appearent reasons in both stock and dloaded AC.

Anyone have any suggestions or what file might be associated with the problem

Thank you,

I get this with my somewhat venerable Sidewinder Precision 2 stick now. It's because the trigger sticks - well, it's had a lot of use Wink I'm looking for a replacement now - sadly they don't seem to be available anymore, which is a pity.

Your problem may also be due to the 'repeat' setting on the trigger button in in the controller assignment settings set up - you don't say what stick you're using, but I would guess it's either mechanical or in the settings.

Cheers,

Pads

Weird! I've got a similar problem but just with CFS3!, I have an M$ FF2 Stick, CFS1,2 IL-2 etc etc are fine, in CFS3, I fire my guns and they keep firing until I press the trigger again!?!

Good job I rarely play CFS3.......  Roll Eyes

I have a logitech Wingman Force feed back

The problem is not mechanical because others sims work good, Its probably a problem with CFS2

And for  4_Series_Scania
Im not an expert, so don't take my advise but, try going to your

C:\Documents and Settings\Your name\Application Data\Microsoft\Combat Flight Simulator 3.0

folder, (if its win XP)

and you might want to try moving the .xca files out of that folder temporily and see what happens again Im not an expert, thats just what I would do (see if it remakes the file)

Ok I checked the repeat and set it back to the least number... still no joy

Switched the trigger to another button.... still no good

switched the trigger to keyboard (as in not pressing joystick)... and it started firing before I pushed anything

Disactivated Firing on joystick and pressed space bar... and you guessed it still no joy.

Now I know its not a problem with joystick but with CFS2 itself

Anyone know what might be causing this??? any file names anything?

Tried that, it seems to cure the problem, alas, once I crash (inevitible!) it seems to go back to how it was... Strange.

YAY I FIXED IT!!! (Sorry got carried away)

Here's a quote from Microsofts site

"Combat Flight Simulator stores game and joystick configuration settings in the Combatfs.cfg file.

Combat Flight Simulator 2stores game and joystick configuration settings in the Cfs2.cfg file.

To rebuild the Combatfs.cfg or Cfs2.cfg file, press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start Combat Flight Simulator and then start a new flight. Continue to hold down CTRL+SHIFT until you are in Cockpit view.

NOTE: When you rebuild the configuration file, some of your joystick settings may change.
"

It was my CFS2.cfg file that got messed up
