Hello all:
I have been gone for sometime now, reliving my youth, so to speak. I had the chance to reunite with two old friends, William Woods, and a '66 dark blue Shelby Cobra AC, and I made a few new friends along the way. The picture is of Hallett Motor Speedway, a 1.8mile, 10 turn piece of heaven. I spent 2 weeks trying to change a slightly pudgy 54 yr old former race driver into a somewhat less pudgy 54 yr old race driver. I worked on the car and I worked on getting my timing back for another two weeks, and finally I raced once again. It was only a vintage car race but we still hit speeds upwards of 155mph. I don't think the grin will ever leave my face. Before you ask, no, I didn't win, place, or show, but 4th overall was just fine with me. I hope I can do this again, but who in their right mind would risk their $1.5 million car a second time?
Fido

Hi Fido. I've been wondering where you got to. What a nice looking track in beautiful surroundings. Good to see you're reliving your youth.

All:
I wish I could say, glad to be back, but to be honest, I'd rather be racing.

Nice stuff!
I'd love to see a picture of the Cobra!
The last time I saw a cobra, it was in Sydney doing doughnuts around the circular quay roundabout with a huge crowd cheering it on. The sound alone nearly made me wet myself!
