I want to increase the VS speed in the autopilot. In my AIR file I have:
line 317 Autopilot settings.
VS Hold Default (FPM) = 100.

Right now my autopilot VS hold switch is set to 1000FPM.  How is that possible when it says 100FPM  in the AIR file? ???

Try changing it in aircraft.cfg.

(autopilot)

My CFG file does say 1800. And yet I still climb out at 1000 with the AP. ???

Any ideas?

It should climb or decend at the setting you put into the vertical speed hold when on AP, regardless of the default in the cfg. That default kicks in if you change the altitude setting without entering a vertical speed entry, and will follow the default vertical speed indicated in the cfg file. Make sure the vertical hold indicator is lit up, otherwise it wont matter what you enter, the aircraft will climb or decend per the default in the cfg.
