Are there any graphical scenery design programs that DO NOT rely on cordinates or a i.q. of 185+???  I just want a really simple scenery design program for fs2k2 and cfs2+1.

What is that smell??? Is that...........................BACON!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Well are there any graphical design programs that do???  I may just use slew mode to find out what the cordinates are.

I'm no rocket scientist & I find FSSC easy enough to use. http://fssc.avsim.net/
Of course, you have to spend a little time learning the ropes like anything else worthwhile. Read the included tutes & try a few test pieces. You should soon get the hang of it.

Doug, as you know I've always been a fan of FSSC and I've used it to do Kai Tak

However, Airport version 3 which is just out is IMHO now streets ahead and I would thoroughly recommend it.

I've used it for my carrier package (now in test) and done things I couldn't do in FSSC. Also Tom has already taken up some of the stuff from the new SDK and is working towards the total design package that I always predicted would be the next step. I predict he will beat Lee Swordy to it Wink

I agree, Airport for Windows 3.0 (build 188 is the latest) is excellent! Also the price is perfect....free! Smiley

Also, Tom has started a program called SceneGenX which will be the XML version of AFW. It's in Alpha right now at build 3. I have already placed some scenery with it and it worked great.

Thanks Roger & FaxCap for your comments. I have nothing but respect for Tom & the guys for what they're doing with Airport. However, I've always found it difficult to understand. I'm sure I'm not alone & suspect this has put many people off scenery design in the past. I would recommend FSSC to newbies as I'm sure they would find it much easier to understand & work with than Airport. Like most things it gets easier once you understand the basic principles. Wink

No. You would need a terrain mesh utility. These are available but the others will know more about them than me.  FSSC & Airport are basically used for creating/updating airports.

You could probably build simple mountains with no slopes, but it wouldn't look all that great Undecided

Have a look at FS Terrain Smiley

PS... I think you can also use Ground 2k.

Guess what...   I tried to download Airport 2.10 and winzip tells me that it is not a valid archive once it is downloaded!!!  It is also 244kb in size as aposed to the 5.3mb that it says on the scenery design page on simviation.

You're missing the point. Read what RollerBall & FaxCap said.

I still think you would find FSSC easier to learn the basics. Then you can progress to Airport if you wish.
