Vc panel dont sho up at night ??? (Read 123 times)

Hi
i have finaly got a vc cockpit working at day (hall vc gauges sho ok ) but whene the night come up no vc ???
i know that for making a night vc i have to put a self eluminating on my $vc texture in Gmax
i have no texture for the vc in the panel folder (have one for 2d)
hall is draw on the invisible $vs01 texture
i have check the square self iluminating and put texture black
what i have made wrong ? the vc sho only at day
pls help

I replied in the other thread ... but here is the text for the night time question.
You must have assigned a self-illumination map to the $texture in gmax. To make that map, do the following.
To light up the night vc panel, you need a texture named the same as the day texture except end name with _L. (Like vcbackground_L.bmp)
This texture can be created by copying the day texture. Now darken the texture alot, where the gauge holes are, replace with light shades of gray or off-white, then invert the texture so it is upside down, then add a black (0,0,0,) alpha to it and save as a DXT3 in the texture folder.

ok but is you not have a texturebut only a $vc texture like my panel what do we do ???

The $texture is used only to identify the projection planar's coordinates to FSim. You must use the File=texturename parameter in the panel.cfg vcockpit section to name the panel texture you wish to have displayed there.
You can use a copy of the 2D texture to make the 3D texture. Just put a copy in the panel folder, and name it in the panel.cfg in the File= parameter. Then make your night light map the same name with the _L.
