A long time ago, there was a large forest fire in Montana. I believe it was this aircraft that was used to drop the smoke jumpers to this particular fire. Tragically, several of the smoke jumpers lost their lives in that fire Sad

A couple years ago, after working for the Forest Service for a summer, I had the chance to go visit the Smoke Jumper's base located in Missoula, Montana where there's a Forest Service museaum, plus another small aircraft museaum located on the airfield

So Here's my DC-3 photo 8) Grin Wink

SWEET!
It is good too know she is used for life saving!
This is one of the things I love about the DC3/C47/C53 etc, beauty and versitility all in one aircraft!
Have you ever seen a bare metal DC3 cleaned and polished?
Maybe you should go and volunteer some time and they might give you a ride Wink
And if you do pictures are mandatory Grin
