I just picked up a CH products yoke. Up til now, I have been using a Logitech ff wingman force 3D with the CH Products pro pedals. Worked pretty good together.
But now I have to say that the yoke is an AMAZING piece of hardware....and improves the sim greatly if you fly GA or "heavy metal". Takeoffs and landings are amazingly easier ..... particularly with a crosswind.
While I plan eventually on building mine into my "generic jet" simpit with lots of other controls on all the panels and overhead and such....... there are enough buttons and levers on the yoke unit itself to make a keyboard very much a "secondry control unit".
While I do miss the force feedback aspect from the joysitck a tad....... it is not all THAT a big deal. The spring loading on the yoke gives you the impression of working against flight generated forces a bit.
I am now thinking about how to take the force feedback circuit from the stick.......and add it onto the yoke
.
So........ just a little fuel for thought.
best,
