Was wondering if anyone could tell me the best settings for 2004 in terms of display with the ATI Radeon 9600 xt 128mb graphics card. Just upgraded from a geforce 4 MX 440 card and am hoping to get a much better look and increase my fps. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks

GooseSDE,

Hum..... I have a 9800 XT and it is a 256Meg card?  Are you sure about the model#?  The 9800 pro is a 128 card, I think.

In my experience....... unfortunately you'll have to play with the settings.  I have a pretty fast rig....... and I cannot get acceptable framerates with everything maxed.

ACOF seems to need more than just the top-of-the-line video card.  Not yet sure what ELSE it needs....... but video alone is not enough.

best,

.....................john

Not quite sure what you are saying in the first line bro? The card is the 9600xt 128mb 8x agp card from ati.

Sorry Goose.......

I read the 9600 as a 9800  Roll Eyes.  Duh.

I had a 9600 pro that I just "dumped" for the 9800 XT...... to try to get better framerates.  Wasn't all that successful.  But the picture LOOKS much better  Wink.

best,

...............john

Hey john. I understand what you were saying now lol  Grin   I appreciate the reply's also. One thing i am confused on, and i dont want to sound like a noob or anything as far as this game goes, but how can you tell how many fps the game is running at in order to experiment and for troubleshooting purposes?

                      Thanks                    Goose

Thanks for the reply's all, but i think i got it set, as i am experiencing up to 72 fps in some places, and averaging above 45 in others. Thanks again though.

No secret bro......
Just overclocked my vid card a little, and played with the display settings in fs9, an wala  Grin   I locked it at 73fps, but i will be able to reach a little higher (about 75). My best so far was i think 55 at 100 feet off the ground, so i am pretty happy with where i am at  Grin

What are your system specs and exactly what kind of display settings are you using?  These things are nice to know when reporting such high frame rates.  Many times people are led to believe those are achieved with maxed settings when in fact they are not.  If you could be more specific on what you are doing to get those frame rates it would be greatly appreciated.
