??? Howdy ,
I have added a ac carrier to a scenery for cfs2.It is the USS Hancock by Dan Geis and modified by Frank Foreman. When you're sitting on the carrier deck, the control tower walls have a rather too large a seam between them. I know you will see some "seams" of this nature but these are very large. Any ideas ?
Another thing. The stock Zero tailhook will not work on the addon carrier. Is there a way to fix this other than add the "airbrake" in the ac cfg file?
Thx

Hi Dave. The Dan Geis macros were originally intended for FS98. I think this might explain any visual flaws in them, even if they've been modified.
I'm not sure the CFS2 virtual tailhook will work on a static carrier. The CFS2-style carriers would be much better to practice landings. IMHO
These can only be used in missions & are not selectable from the Free Flight menu. I'm not sure if they can be used online.

Thanks for the reply Hagar.I kind of figured that.Oh well.On another note..I have been building a scenery for cfs2.How do you enable crash detect? It's been suggeted that I use EOD to build "invisible" objects and super impose that on object I want to 'enable".Is this a good way? Is there another way? Thanks again for your help as always

Although I know the basics I'm no great authority on scenery design as I've always been more interested in missions. I prefer basic CFS2 scenery with a simple runway. The buildings & other library objects can then be added as you wish in each mission. Most of these are proper exploding objects with their own DP files.
I haven't used EOD for some time. If it has a crash detection option it might be best to create your own object macros & use them.
PS. I just downloaded EOD Help.
http://www.echos.ch/eod/download.htm
Here's what it says about crash detection.
Quote:
Crash control Only for the cube object. The airplane crashs in case you fly through the object. If the cube doesn't have any textures, you can use it as an invisible 'crash area'. This is useful for complicated objects. The Crash control will only work with a scale of 1.0 or any fixed scale factor.

There we go ! You are the answer man ! I just got mail from H_Paul and he confrims exactly what you said. Thanks again.
Oh another question....(sry lol) I use Cors Dirklands cfs mission builder . I haven't had much success with Keith Bedfords as much as he tried to help me.You know how helping me can be LOL.Anyway.I am a fanatic on proper scale in all my sceneries. When I use Cors D. mission builder for cfs1 missions, the static or target objects are much bigger scale wise than the stock cd objects. Is there a way to scale the target objects correctly or is what you see is what you got?
Thanks again 8)

Sorry. You're asking the wrong person. I never was any good with missions. Troubleshooting them is as far as I go. I leave mission building & AIR file editing to others who know what they're doing.
All the CFS1 Korean campaigns I did with Mike Eustace were created with Keith Bedford's CfsMe. We never did figure out Cor Dikland's mission editor. In fact I couldn't get it to work on my system.
