This is the letter the news reporter wrote to the police department.
I had to work at the PD last night and during Roll Call we were shown this
disturbing video from the Ohio State Campus Police. Apparently similar
crimes have occurred in Champaign and in Ann Arbor so there is a strong
suspicion that this culprit is a current or former Big Ten student. Seeing
that Chicago has such a large contingent of former Big Ten students who
have migrated here, the Ohio State Police have distributed this photo to
all Chicago area departments in hopes that someone may be able to identify
the offender.
Seeing as some or all of you boys have recently visited all three of these
campuses, I thought you might be able to help the investigation. The
offender is a white male, 6' 2", approx. 120lbs, and although wearing a ski
mask, it was observed that he had longer, perhaps shoulder length black,
somewhat greasy hair.
Please contact me directly, or your local authorities if you have any
information regarding this case. We appreciate your support.
