How come my FS2002 runs so much better (better frame rates, graphics), then my FS2004? I have both games installed on my computer. With FS2002 I get frame rates of an average 18fps, with FS2004 my average is 6fps. In FS2002 I can configure all the graphics to "high", my FS2004 is currently set to "medium high"
Would it help my FS2004 if i uninstalled FS2002??
Please help

Woah!  Hold them horses...... Grin

Uninstalling FS2002 will have absolutely no effect on FS2004 unless, possibly, your hard drive is so full, your windows "swap file" hasn't enough space to work, in which case, free up some space and you may get some improvement.

Fs2002 runs much better than FS2004 for the same reason CFS1 runs better than CFS2 on my machine, earlier software, written for much slower hardware, newer software written for quicker hardware! QED.

CFS3 breaks this trend, and seems to run well on selected pc's, sadly, not any I've owned.... Roll Eyes  Grin

Back to FS2004, frankly, you should be happy FS2004 works at all with your machine, which isn't exactly I'm afraid top notch FS hardware.
EMachines are alas, the usual high street rubbish! Rarely will you walk into PC world and find a well balanced machine, the times I've told friends who've just paid 800 pounds+ for a new PC that it's useless at games until they spend more money on a Graphics card! I'd be rich if I got paid for doing it! Undecided

I assume your emachines is an Intel Celeron 2.6ghz (most are Celeron's) not exactly a great CPU, but certainly better than my old Celeron 1.7 which could, combined with a good graphics card, run FS2002 very well & 2004 reasonably well, but certainly better than you describe edward13.

As long as your pc has an AGP slot, then ANY GeForce FX or Ati 9000series Graphics card will be a great improvement over your current integrated graphics setup.

768MB of RAM should be fine,I assume your running XP, if you've got Windows 98 or ME installed, then you'll see a performance boost by removing 256MB, as those two O.S.'s can't manage over 512mb of RAM properly...... Roll Eyes

If your PC has'nt got an AGP port, you could get a PCI graphics card, frankly you'd be wasting your money, and would be better off replacing your motherboard.... (More money  Roll Eyes )
