I'm happy for you. Enjoy your few days off, I'm sure you've earned it. Grin

This has given me another of my cunning ideas. If you can do it so can I.  Maybe I'll postpone Christmas & reschedule it for June. I always fancied a barbie on the beach like they do in Oz. Unless I win the lottery my chances of visiting Australia at Christmas time are now looking very dim indeed. Roll Eyes

I hate christmas.   Grin Any cards I get stay in their envlopes or hit the bin. I send zero. I only buy presents for my daughter. No christmas decorations & no tree. I see christmas as an irritating object in the path of life & cannot stand the way everything slows down. Be glad when all returns to normal. Christmas meal for me will be a sandwitch & the day will be just another day .. any folk trying to call to wish me well will get the usual  recorded message .....  Grin   8)

Pete have you ever heard Kevin "Bloody" Wilsons 'Hey Santa Claus'? I feel this may be the one Christmas song you'd enjoy Wink

You miserable old young sod fellow. Much worse than I ever was. And I'm supposed to be the grumpy one around here. Shocked

In actual fact my Christmas day will be much the same as yours. I don't care much for it these days. You could at least wish Will & all these good people Happy Holidays - even if you don't mean it. Tongue Cheesy

Ah yes, not like it used to be!!
I used to look forward to it but I myself have become a Scrooge.
I really have nothing to look forward to, no family around, not enough days off work to travel and be with them (12hr drive to the closest) (Don't have my PPL yet!!) not to mention the World seems to have forgotten the real reason for Christmas!!!!
It is all commercial now, you ask a child now days what is Christmas about and they'll tell you "Santa Clause and presents".
That is the way it was for me growing up but we also knew the real reason, that of which I will not go into because of I don't want to infringe on others belifes.
But all in all, if you are into spending money and going into debt this is the time off year!!
But let us all remember the real reason of this special day!
And let us all ask "SANTA" for a gift for everyone to share:
Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all  Mankind!!
To all of you Happy Holidays!! Where ever your corner of the world might be!!!

Bahh Humbug everyone  Grin ... Actually the above post was slightly tongue in cheek I do indeed have a christmas tree (mainly for my daughter when she visits...) but at the same time hate the way everything slows down & if you ask yourself at any one minute in the day if you're having a better time now than you were 2 weeks ago the answer may well be no ...

In my view - not being a person to follow any laid down religion - I see christmas as being for mainly kids.

It also has a role in that it provides a little bonding point once per year for folk that bearly stay in touch - or families .... I suppose you could also say the general christmas cheer is a little refuelling of goodwill in the world.... !  8)

Merry Christmas!  Cheesy

We celebrate Christmas in our home as a matter of tradition for the kids.  My favorite part is enjoying all the lights and decorations around town.  My least favorite part is feeling obligated to go out and buy stuff for everybody for no particular reason other than it being Christmas time.  Christians are supposed to celebrate Christ's life every day.  My wife and I may not be the best Christians but we try to do what we can to help others periodically with groceries etc.  I want to wish all of you out there a good holiday season and an even better 2004.
