Have you built DONE a VC?  Remember, the VC is a separate model/group.

What you see from the "inside" depends on the model you've built.

As a ridiculous example - you can build a fantastic 747 on the outside, but if you build a Wright Flyer as the "interior" model, you'll have great all around visibility from the "inside" views.

What he means is when you make the aircraft in Gmax, you must build the VC there.  Just put it where the normal cockpit is and make it a seperate "group" by choosing that option from the pulldown menus.  Name it "interior" and then select everything else in the gmax scene.  name this "exterior" and then export.  That should make everything visible.

If you still can't see anything, it probably has something to do with the location of the reference datum in the aircraft.cfg file or the eyepoint in the same one.

EnderBenders message gives the answer.
When you build a model in Gmax ( or FSDS) the "main" model is what you see in the simulator as an "external" view of the plane.

If you wish to see ANY detail from inside the cockpit when flying the model in FS2004/ CFS2, you then have to build a NEW model ( by copying parts from the original "main" model, ie inside cockpit wall, canopy, wings etc) this second model should be named "VC" ( virtual cockpit) and then added to the original "main" BEFORE exporting to the BGL file.

Hope this helps explain a little. Don't give up!!!!

Actually, in Gmax the name of the new group should be "interior".  The outside model should be named "exterior".

Merlin needs an FSDSspeak to gmaxspeak translator .. Smiley

(It's fun watching an FSDS'er go blank when you tell him to 'clone and mirror', or tell a gmaxer to copy a cross section to template and conform to template...Smiley
