I am hoy. I have got a serious problem here. It all happens when i reinstall my computer for Windows 2000 Professional/NT.(Cos there are too many errors in my 2 years old com) After that, i continued with my Microsoft Words, Excels, software for my zipdrive, software for my Scanner. Most importantly, i have also installed DirectX 9.0b Runtime. Then i installed the FS2002 Professional. After that, I start the game and i stillcould arrive at the Page which says'' get started''. Next i change the settings and get to the page where i can choose my plane, destinations, weathers and time. The Com just restarts itself automatically, before i could even see the plane model. Goodness me, i can't get myself to work without flying, so could any kind people out there, who are xtremly good at com, help me?
info abt my com:
memory: 56Mb Ram ( i don't think it is the problem, coz i could still fly when my OS is Windows 98 Second Editon)
Operating System: Windows 2002 Professional/NT 4.0
Processor: P3, 800mHz
Com: Acer
Display Adapter: Sis 530/620
DirectX version: Direct X 9.0b Runtime(lastest one) and Direct 3D available as well.
P.S: When i use Dxdiag to check the com: They say that the AGP texture accelerator is unavailable. Is it a the problem. Is it a driver or a software?

To fly or not to fly,....
that's a stupid question
Gender:
First reply wasn't a joke ...You have installed a newer version of Windows that requires more memory (RAM which is Random Acessible Memory). 56mb isn't much to run these Memory hungry programs.
Every window that is open sucks memory ... most people go through the ALT CTRL DELETE (3 fingered salute) to close everything but Explorer and SysTray, then they open the Flight Sim .... once in the sim the less windows open (GPS MAP) Throttle, etc the better.
Just thought you might like to know. If still in doubt ask a computer tech.

As it appears you have installed a new OS:
Have you installed O/S compatible drivers for your SiS g/a, and is the g/a with updated drivers DirectX 9.x compliant? If not you may have to step back to a DirectX ver. your g/a can handle, FS2002 doesnt need 9.x.
Also, system req. for FS2002 specify 128Mb ram for 2000/XP.
Cheers,
dave

Considering that the published MINIMUM requirements for FS2k2 list a MINIMUM of 64MB of RAM to run FS, and taking into consideration the knowledge that the minimum requirements for ANYTHING usually result in pee-poor performance, I'd have to agree that there isn't anything even remotely joke-ish about it.

Firstly, thanks for your help. I feel really grateful. I have spoken all that coz i am so troubled and upset. ANYWAY, i will go through those suggestions. BTW, the minimum memory is 16MB Ram, as written on the cover?

1-Take Direct x 9 out and let FS2002 install the one on the disk. This will give your accerlator back,or [go to a graphics card with more memory.] There is not an uninstaller with direct x 9. So you have to start programing your computer all over again.
2-Install more Ram. If you have more than one slot for memory cards. The cards will have to be the same MB.
2-64mb or 2-128mb .[ check your motherboard manual.] I tried a128mb with a 64 mb, and memory kept failing.
I know it is a head ache, but it is well worth it when you get it fixed. I went through the same thing and more.

RAM is relatively inexpensive, and very easily accessible, for most computers. However, every once in a while, some people have a hard time finding sticks of RAM for their system, depending on how old it is.
Almost all major computer retailers will have RAM for ya, it's just a matter of how much you want.
I wouldn't suggest anything less than a total of 256MB, although even that is pushing it. If you're going to upgrade anyway, and you can afford it, I'd go with the full 512 to start.
I have 640MB in my 2.0 and I'm more than happy with the result.
