Well. Apparently my name - Douglas - is Scottish in origin. It means Dark Stream or words to that effect. ???

Apart from the fact that my grandfather served as a Sergeant-Major in the Seaforth Highlanders (long story) I have no links with Scotland that I know of. Wink Tongue

PS. Contary to popular belief I'm very particular about my underwear. I wouldn't dream of venturing outside without wearing a pair of clean underpants in good condition. My dear Mum drummed it into us lads from a young age that we should do this in case we got run over or had some terrible accident. I never saw the logic in that myself. Roll Eyes
Unless I happen to be "Wedgied" by some miscreant clearly up to no good they are very comfortable & not prone to ride up or cause me embarrassment of any sort. Hence my confusion. Smiley

PPS. I imagine I have now succeeded in killing this joke stone dead with my attempt at a little jocularity. Sorry, I always did have a very weird sense of humour. Blame Spike Milligan & his cronies for that. Shocked

The little guy with the M on his T-shirt sent me off-track.

OMG...LMAO....I never thought of the little M & M guy....sorry Doug. Those little guys are some what popular here in the US...some very cute and funny commercials....especially their Christmas commercials. It's a very good ad campaign.

Aha. Thank you Rommie. A beam of light now shines through the murk into my befuddled marble. Where there was darkness ??? now all is bright & gleaming. Grin

I suspected this little guy was part of some culture difference that I did not fully understand, either due to me being an old fogey or a Brit or both. 8) Cheesy

I think it is because he is from an older generation because i am English and my family dates way back to the Norman invasion and i understand what a wedgie is.  Also we call mens underwear pants.  We call what our friendly neighbours over the pond call pants trousers.

It wasn't the wedgie that confused me Hyvry. This is an old tradition going back further than I can remember. It was this little guy.

Why are you talking about me in the 3rd person as though I'm not here? Tongue Grin

Sorry
I know your here anyway.
Being in the older generation shows that you have a wealth of experience that you can share and appear wise etc. Smiley
