Good evening gents!
This IFR flight will be flown from Paris Charles de Gaulle to London Heathrow (LFPG--->EGLL)
Onward with the pics
The overhead panel of the 737, the blue generator off lights reveals that this baby is running the APU, pre-flight preparations are just commencing
ATC clears us to 9000ft, using the runway 08L Nurmo departure, reviewing the departure on the Navigation display's 'Plan mode'
Just started the engines after a very short push-back (cheap ¤&#"....
) Selecting the R-TO is not because of noise abatements, but to simply reduce the engine wear. We're also quite heavy, V2 is at 137kts with Flaps 10 according to the FMC
Airbourne, flying the departure manually with the assistance of the Flight Director, turning left, heading to the NURMO intersection.
Our beautiful aircraft, seen from the outside. The huge clouds in the background gives a hint what is waiting for me in England
Descending, ATC told me to expect radar vectoring to ILS runway 27R using the BIGGIN3A arrival route. The visibility, well I cant see jack out there
The 737-700 is lined up, ready for the final approach, the fog is not as thick as before, but there is no doubt that I will opt for a dual channel autoland
One last glance on the CDU to assure I got the information right, VREF 142 with Flaps 30 is 1 tiny knot above FAA standards for this type of aircraft, but we'll be allright...full flaps are for wussies
I can see the lights!!! Hooraaaay (excuse for not coming up with a good caption)
About to vacate runway 27R, the trusty autoflight system did it again (Thanks God for that!)
That's it, hope you liked the pictures
