FS 2004.

Hi, all you prop enthusiasts out there...!

Here is a pic of the Beech 18G for use with FS 2004!
Taking off from Los Angeles, (KLAX).
...It's an FS 2002 plane, but it works FANTASTIC in FS 2004...!

It makes a pleasant alternative to the default DC3 for anyone, who like me, (with dodgy eyesight!), is an enthusiastic radio Nav/Com/ADF/Auto-pilot twiddler, and have difficulties in reading the digits and tuning the "old-fashioned" dials on the DC3..!
The Beech uses the "normal" radios..lovely...!
...and with careful adjustment of the throttle, prop pitch, mixture and trim controls, an economical cruise speed of 200+ knots is easily obtainable!
It also has a very nice "Virtual Cockpit"..!
...and just listen to the sounds, (in the Sound Folder)...WOW...!

With thanks for the guidance from Ivan, (Aircraft Wanted Forum), it can be found at Avsim, search for >>
b18g2k2. Greg Pepper
(Dont forget to also download the "patch" as well, which corrects the external prop animation, etc. Note in my pic, it hasn't been installed yet!).
Have fun with a lovely old plane...!

Los Angeles, (KLAX).

...

Landed at Big Bear City, for re-fueling (L35).
(It's a shame that the fuel pump locations don't appear in FS Navigator now, for FS 2004...Buggar..)...!

...

Cheers all...
Paul....oohhh...lovely radials...dribble-dribble...!

Yeah, I can relate to that, must come with age, huh?  Usually a pair of binos and a million watts of spotlite and it helps read the gauges a bit.  Geez!!!!

I love the ole beech, does it come with floats tho?  That would make my day.  Gonna go get it now.

Hi Splash.... Grin...!
LOL...!
There are one or two activites that can affect your eyesight, (apparantly), but in my case its just due to advancing years... Wink...!
LOL...!

Float version...no.. Cry..!
But if anyone knows of a float version that works in FS 2004, let us know... 8)...!
Some of the "old" FS 2000/2002 ones don't work in FS 2004... Cry...!

Cheers mates... Grin...!

hey:
I 've got a small problem, I've downloaded the Beech G18-S, the patch, and the repaint, but, when I click OK after selection, instead of asking if I want to fly now the game closes down, and defaults back to the desktop. Any ideas?

Hello again:
Turns out it was not the plane that was causing me problems, it was just the early death throws of my OS. I have reinstalled and so far so good. Sorry for the false alarm.

this plane was one of my first freeware add-ons in fs02 that had  a panel ,vc,  and animated wheel struts.( yeah, i've only been here for a little over a year Grin)

i was ecstatic when i found it to work perfectly in fs9.  it has such a clean, accurate model,   and fluid dynamics.

i posted a few shots of it when i first got fs9.......way back in this forum.

page 51 actually...... if anyone cares to see them.
........the funniest part about the post below is fozzer's reply...( not shakespeare, after that)

Hey Fozzer,
Great plane - thanks for the tip!

There's a Beech 18 float plane on Avsim (b18flt2k2v1.zip), but I don't know if it works in 2004 (not having it, you see!)

(Er, FS2004, that is...)

(My old Beech 18's, (wheel/float), from Simviation, only work in FS 2002, not FS 2004, so I was very pleased to find this one)... Grin...!
...Would still like a float version to go with it as well... Wink...!
