Hi,

Can anyone tell me if you can edit the force feed back settings in cfs3?
I have a m-soft force feed back 1 (game port plug in)
The problem I’m having is with the force on the flying surfaces, no matter how I trim the aircraft the stick is pushing against me.
This didn’t happen on cfs1, 2 or fs2000 and cof.

What I want to do is disable the forces for the flying surfaces and leave the effect turned on for guns and landings etc.
At the moment I have to use the stick without forces because the pull on the stick is so bad.
Also I can not adjust the sensitivity of the stick at all.

As a test I have tried deleting the ffback settings for 1 aircraft using the aircraft.cfg file, but even after doing this I still get force feed back, so the file for editing it must be located somewhere else. Anyone know where this file is?

Any one else have an ms force feed back 1 and are you having problems?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks Havoc.

You wouldn't by any chance have onboard AC'97 Codec

as your soundcard?

Even if you have an addon soundcard, if your

motherboard has onboard sound, you may not be able

to use your force feedback, even if the onboard sound

is disabled.

Apparently, the midi port handles the forcefeedback

channel on Gameport MS FFB Sidewinder 1 sticks.

I have the above stick, it's easiest just to unplug the

power connector from the stick and fly with no forces at all.

I have tried everything to get it to work, but it refuses.  Cry

Articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base are where I

eventually found the bad news.

I hope that's not your problem as I had only just

upgraded when I bought my joystick, and it was such a

waste of money buying the FFB stick.

Thank's Congo,

And Yes, I do have ac 97 sound whch is disabled.

I bought an add-on sound card in order to get a gameport.

With the other ms flight sims I have no problems at all with force feedback. Only cfs3 gives me problems.
Which makes me think it's software related.

Is this the case with you ie, do you get f fback with fs2002, 2004 etc?

Thanks Havoc.

If what you're getting is heavy vibration and no centering in FS2002 or FS 2004, that's the glitch that was in it from new (read the handbook).  If you have FS2002, you can go the options/joystick calibration/forces/ok/ok route every time you boot up but I've just found that in FS2004 that only fixes the glitch until you return to the FS screen.  Pity that M$ didn't sort that one out before they marketed it!

Hi shedman,

Regarding your reply. My joystick is the ffback 1 not 2
It works fine with 2002 and 2004.

Only cfs3 makes me  Angry,  ???,  EmbarrassedCry
