I am currently working on a virtual cockpit of my Kingair (the 'lite' version already avialable here). I am using multiple texture sheets to ensure the VC has a high quality finish. Unfortunately, I have noticed that the base interior texture (1024 x 1024) looks blurred when used at the same time as the smaller sheets (512 x 512). All are 8 bit textures with no MIPS. I will post some screenshots to show. The larger texture is used on the seats, rudder pedals, floor and copilot yoke. You will see that when the other textures are removed, they look OK. When the other textures are added, they become very fuzzy. Is there a limit to the size or number of textures FS can use?? How  can I fix this?? I really do want this to be as high quality as possible. I have tried to make the larger texture sheet the same size as the smaller ones (512 x 512) but this makes no difference.

Hi, I can't figure out your problem at the moment, but you mention there is already a download availble here? What's the filename, I searched under tshikwara but got no results...Interesting to see your panel, (is it a replacement for the default Kingair 350 or a totally new plane as well..?)  I'm busy building a Beech 99 with 'old' steam gauges......

I don't know if you read Father Bill's tutorial already, might have to do with your problem...

That has never happened to me before ??? Although I do notice a slight quality drop, I Have never had it look that blurred unless I had MIP's on.

The only suggestion that I would make however, is to use DXT3 as the format you use for your textures rather than 8 bit. Because that is what I use, and I do not have that problem, even when I use multiple texture maps.

I hope it fixes your problem  Lips Sealed

avialable here under the name RFDS Kingair B200 MVL, search for Mike Hill
Gforce, I will try the DXT3 format and see how that goes. I am begining to suspect that I simply have a far too big model and texture sets in memory, and it cant display everthing without a supercomputer (or something like that). I may have to go back and delete a whole heap of stuff out of it to get the size down.
cheers
