Here is a question people've been trying to answere for ages:

"If a tree falls in a forest, and there is noone around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

what do you think?

No.  The tree falls and the impact of wood smacking against whatever surface creates vibrations that are sent out.  It is our brains (humans and animals) that interpret the vibrations as sounds an assign the value of a tree falling to those vibrations.  So if there is no one to hear it, then there is no sound.  It's akin to having your stereo on, but the speakers not hooked up.

More importantly, if a bear is crapping under the tree, and it falls on him, is the Pope still Catholic?  Cheesy

No, it requires an eardrum to make it a sound.  Until it hits that, it is only vibrations.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?  Smiley

The sound of one hand clapping is CL or AP depending on which hand is used and whether or not the person is left handed.

Hmmm. The 3 dimensions, sight, sound & touch are human concepts so in fact do not really exist. The same goes for the 4th dimension - time - which we invented purely for our own convenience. Makes you think doesn't it? Tongue Roll Eyes Wink

I disagree about time.  Time is a universal constant.  It was here before us and it'll be here after us.  Wink

Jigga what?   ???

Another age old question...Who shot down The Red Baron?  Or, who framed Roger Rabbit?  Even better yet, why are we here? ???

Well, the last one can be answered with science or religion....Which ever you prefer....I think... ???

well on the red baron one. they had a program on this documenting all the possible people who could have shot him down, and apparently it wasnt the guy in the plane shooting at him, it was apparently some un-named soldier on the ground who just took a lucky pot shot at him.

I know, but it still could have been that Canadian pilot, Charles Brown was it?  Maybe the Baron was in a shallow dive and Brown popped one in the cockpit.  It is still hard to tell because the ground crews and airmen used the same .303 bullets, and the slug that killed him was never found.  Even if it was the Aussie ground crew, the Canadian military would want it known that one of there pilots shot down the most famed fighter pilot of all time, and the same for the Austrailians, cept with their machine gunners.  The Germans would like it to be the Austrailians, so their best fighter pilot would still hold the honor of never being shot down by an Allied aircraft.

all fair points.Smiley
through the use of a simulator they did find using the pilots accounts of the battle, that although possible, it was highly unlikely due to the angle of which the baron was hit and the angle of which the canadian came in for the shot, plus the distance at which he was at made it less likely(still possible though) what i found funny was the museum where the barons chair is being held at in canada actually states that the hole in the back of it is from a bullet that hit him, however after checking documents and using a simmalar bullet the researchers found it was actually where the screw went to hold the chair to the plane.
all i know is, that we will never really know who did get the shot that killed him

I love these little mysteries or life and the world!  If we didn't have them, I'd have nothing of use to think about in math class or English class. Shocked

Thank you mysterious world.
