As the learning curve continues, I've managed to export my model into FS2002 and view it. However...I noticed that anytime I use the MIRROR command in GMAX ver 1.2, the mirrored part doesn't rendor correctly in FS2002. The outer faces seem to be invisible showing interior faces (for lack of a better term). I love the flexibility of GMAX but it seems to have a lot of little idiosyncrasies? How do I get around this? If it involves collapsing stacks in GMAX...where do I find the command? (I read this in a post headed, "Mirror problems")
I appreciate all the help so far! I hope in the end...when the learning curve is over I can offer a cool model

Here it goes:
1. Select the original object that you intend to mirror.
2. Make a clone of the object by going to the Edit Menu and select clone [make sure it's a copy and not an instance]
3. Select the new object [the cloned one]
4. Go to the Modifier Tab then the Modifier stack and select the Mirror Modifier [this is not like the Mirror command that is shown in the the tool bar].
5. Then [in the modifier tab] select which axis the mirrored object will mirror.
Their, you're done.
When you export, you should NOT see an inside-out object. Instead, you should now see a regular, non-inside-out object.
Collapsing the Modifier stack it optional. You don't have to do that. It hake no difference for rendering the object in FS. It is suggested that you don't collapse the stack. That way, you can go back and forth between each modifier if you need to make any changes to a particular modifier.
