I'm trying to learn more about what makes an air file tick (I know, sad isn't it!) so I can understand flight dynamics better, and I was wondering if anybody out there could help me with a query.

I think I've absorbed the basics of air file input into the aerodynamics (lift, drag, speed etc.), and how this is modified by the .cfg file when you start up FS. However, the first entry in the 'primary aerodynamics' section (line 1101) is labelled 'airframe type'. All the others are indicated in knots, degrees, radians etc., but what are the units in this line? What does it do? If you change it up or down, it brings up the 'overspeed' indicator, so what factors are used to calculate it?

Can anyone help me, or tell me where might be a good place to look?

Thanks, guys!

From there, you have links to THE flight dynamics forum at http://www.avhistory.org, and the utilities at http://www.mudpond.us/
