Hi,
I've posted this question previously in other sections --
For some reason, my screenshots disappear. I upload the jpegs and post them as per instructions, and they do show up. But after some time, when I check again, the shots don't show up. I then upload the jpegs again and the shots reappear, only to disappear again after a day or two. I haven't had any problems with screenshots before until this started happening a few days ago. Any ideas?
Thanks

Weird. I can only assume the shots are too big in file size or resolution. Anything over 800 pixel width or exceeding 100k is automatically deleted from the server.

Thanks. I'll check if that's the case.

I don't think anyone has been deleting them. That's not the style of us mods. Usually, if they're outside the limits, we'll ask the person to resize them or we'll get permission to resize them ourselves. Deleting them without even notifying the member would be a serious breach of etiquette. I don't know what might be causing this, but I do want to move this to the Site problems forum where it'll most likely get personal attention from Pete, the webmaster.

Pippin. I wasn't accusing the Mods. I'm sure Pete said he goes through the images regularly & deletes those that don't comply with requirements?
PS.

One or 2 individuals are making no effort to keep file sizes within 100K. There is no reason any 800 pixel wide shot for this forum should be more than 100K. I am presently downloading a 950K jpg!
There is a good reason for this 'rule' - downloading large files within this forum slows the whole forum down & uses up unnecessary & expensive bandwidth.
I hate to do this - but - I'm afraid to have to say that I cannot continue to edit shots - from now on shots over 150 K will be deleted from the uploads folder.

yea usually when u do a naugty (i.e. post a pic too big) the mods just IM you and tell you and they say their sorry and they remove it). No hard feelings really, It happened to me with my avatar and they were more than helpful w/resizing and all.
