you could paint it bright pink and put cuddly toys all over the wings and I would still be happy to see it fly. Its the plane that matters to me.

I will sign theres no harm in it, whether or not it does bring it back theres always that tiny chance.

howdy hagar I know BA are less than innocent when it comes to business practices, but they also put billions into the plane wthout it being covered by the Government.

When BA were de-nationalised the government had no responsibilty. That was part of the deal for accepting Concorde. There's no room for sentiment in business & nobody would spend all those millions without expecting a return. This is what the airline business is all about. When an aircraft becomes unprofitable it's sold or scrapped. This is the situation here. The BA management have no sentiment for Concorde or any other aircraft.

Saw on Pop Sci that Lockheed Marting, I believe, was working a a new "concorce" Forgot what issue, this month's maybe. Or next months. Anyways, the sponsor is a millionaire who has not come forward to show himself yet. I will see which issue its on later.

Personally I like to see an aircraft fly, whatever colour it is, be it a Red Bull Sea Vixen or a pink (eugh  Tongue) Spitfire (that turned out quite nice though)... I don't think Concorde in Virgin colours would be that bad - if it had sold in the first place we would be seeing it in many more liveries anyway.

not nessicarilly.
concorde could only be painted in certain colors, due to the heat and stress it sustains at Mach2.
the pepsi livery meant concorde had to restrict its speed to Mach 1.7.

Well, I don't think this will ever happen as BA would send those aircraft to the breakers yard rather than let Branson have them. The Virgin colours aren't basically any different from BA's so that's a poor excuse. They at least remained patriotic when the BA management defied public opinion by doing away with the national flag. This proved a disastrous mistake & a typical waste of hard-earned profits. The logos on the Air France & BA Concordes were only painted on the front fuselage & vertical tail surfaces anyway.

The PR pink Spitfire markings are authentic & nothing to do with any sponsor. Wink

Quite right Hagar, the Spit PR XI markings were (and still are) authentic, although apparently the shade of pink was a little lighter in squadron service (more of an off white - i'm sure B&Q could supply the shade...). But hey, when you own a Spitfire you can paint it whatever colour you like...

I think colour would be slightly irrelevant if (hypothetically) say one Concorde were to be kept flying as I doubt it would ever need to go near supersonic speeds IF it was to be used for airshows/promo work...
