Just a curious topic. Is it harder to be a guy or a girl?

I think guys work more outside, and we're low maintenance. Then on the social side, we have to introduce ourselves to girls. Like, its like the most nerve racking thing to ask for an e-mail. Then it boggles ones mind to understand girls.

My guess, about girls is that they are more at home. The harder part of their work is, cooking, cleaning and perhaps spending more time caring for children.

P.S This is a male dominated forum, its an uphill argument to go for girls.

My opinion is that it has to be much harder to be a woman, they are much more emotional, they worry about silly stuff all the time, always in danger of being fondled or raped, and they have that unpleasant week once a month for a good part of their lives, on the other hand they can get pretty much anything they want by flashing a boob or spreading their legs, if they are half way descent looking that is.

Being a guy, I know I hardly ever worry about anything because what's the point? About the only emotion I experience on a regular basis is frustration (usually due to the incompetence of those around me), if a chick wants to fondle or rape me, as long as she is good looking she is more than welcome, and I don't bleed for a week straight out of any of my orifices.
I never had a problem hooking up with women even though it took a little more effort than just flashing some skin, obviously this only works for the women, it usually just gets a guy slapped or arrested.

On a more serious level, I know just from being with the same woman for many, many years, as well as having been very close friends with many different women throughout my life, how much harder it is for them to deal with many of the things that doesn't phase us guys, so I have to say it is much harder to be a woman, I don't think I would want to trade genders.
I have known a lot of beautiful and wonderful women who get treated like sh*t by their boyfriends or husbands, some of them even have been beat up, slapped around and constantly cheated on, but live in fear, so they never get out of the relationship.

I love women, I always have, and I always treat them very well, and with much respect. I tell my woman everyday how much I love and appreciate her.

I'd say its equally hard, but in different ways e.g. a guy is wondering how to get a new set of jets into his carb, a girl is trying to get the curtains to coordinate with the room!
We just think and react differently to things. When a man is happy he smiles and has a beer with his mates, when a girl is happy she bursts into tears!!!
Heck I don't think this Q. is answerable Grin

Wow!! Pretty old fashioned view!!
I cook, look after children, clean the toilet, bath, vacuum the whole house, dust (every now & then..) ... In fact I don't know any couple where SHE does cooking & cleaning!!

These days from what I can see - except in the most old fashioned conservative types - gender roles have very much merged.

Who's partner doesn't work? Those days are gone.

Well said Pete, I know I do the lions share of the housework, but I've recently been banned from the kitchen for a week or two after making a chilli so hot (Oso's receipe, and damn if it ain't plutonium based!!!) so she-who-must-be-obeyed is doing the cooking Grin Grin Grin And much as I hate to admit it she is a better cook than me Sad

I had to check my watch to make sure I didn't put it back too far - like 50 years or so. Roll Eyes
Strikes me that things haven't changed as much as I thought since the '50s. ???

I thank my lucky stars every day for not being born a girl. Wink

Don't bother trying. That's an impossible task for any man. Vive la difference.....! Smiley

Understanding Women!

A Woman's Vocabulary, Keywords and Meanings (as taken from an interview with a woman)

FINE
This is the word we use at the end of any argument in which we feel we are right, but need to shut you up. NEVER use 'Fine' to describe how a woman looks. This will cause you to have one of those arguments.

FIVE MINUTES
This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so I feel that it's an even trade.

NOTHING
This means something and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with the word "Fine".

GO AHEAD (with raised eyebrows)
This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine".

GO AHEAD (normal eyebrows)
This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care". You will get a raised eyebrow "Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.

LOUD SIGH
This is not actually a word, but is still often a verbal statement very misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing".

SOFT SIGH
Again, not a word, but a verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" are one of the few things that some men actually understand. She is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe and she will stay content.

OH
This word followed by any statement is trouble.
Example; "Oh, let me get that". Or, "Oh, I talked to him about what you were doing last night". If she says "Oh" before a statement, run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. She will tell you that she is "Fine" when she is done tossing your clothes out the window, but do not expect her to talk to you for at least 2 days. "Oh" as the lead-in to a sentence usually signifies that you are caught in a lie. Do not try to lie more to get out of it, or you will get raised eyebrows and a "Go ahead," followed by acts so unspeakable that I can't bring myself to write about them.

THAT'S OKAY
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a
woman can say to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before visiting on you major retribution and tribulations for what ever it is that you have done. "That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and used in conjunction with a raised eyebrow "Go Ahead". At some point in the near future when she has plotted and planned, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.

PLEASE DO
This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance to tell the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's
Okay".

THANKS
A woman is thanking you. Do not faint, just say you're welcome.

THANKS A LOT
This is much different than "Thanks". A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have hurt her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh". Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh", as she will only tell you "Nothing".

I'm glad I'm a guy!!!

ah ha!! Know it only too well. Chilli is one of my specialities ... all fresh ingredients - with the exception of the beans (canned I admit) & chillies which have been dried (unless I have a new crop of fresh on hand) ... though TOO hot means no taste so there has to be a compromise (I'd love to be proved wrong.. Smiley )

... & .... I think there is really no overall difference...

girls find  it easy on some levels
guys find it easy on soem levels ...

I'd like to be a girl for a day ... not so I could be with a guy .. but so I could play with  my body ... Wink

I've spent a lifetime (about 35 years +/- so far- since my teen's) researching these wonderful creatures. I figure by the time I die....I'll know very little in the way of useful information that would be considered a true revelation to men. Better men than I have tried and failed miserably and most who have tried have died babbling idiots...lol. I'm beginning to babble more with age...OMG!
